The road from Santiago to El Colorado takes you through numerous mountain passes and serpentine roads, winding amidst the mountain peaks. The road is full of twists and descents, but each one rewards you with captivating vistas.
The Grandeur of Chilean Mountain Cacti
A special highlight was encountering the majestic cacti that grow among the mountains. These enormous cacti, reaching several meters in height, create a unique landscape and give these mountains a special charm. Their sharp needles and vibrant green color create an unmatched contrast with the rocky soil and the blue sky.
El Colorado Apart Hotel
Upon arriving in El Colorado, I was greeted by a splendid hotel that served as the perfect conclusion to this incredible journey. The hotel was surrounded by lush greenery and constructed entirely of wood, giving it a special allure. Cozy rooms with mountain views, a fireplace, and spacious terraces created an atmosphere of complete relaxation.
However, the true gem of this hotel was its wine collection. The founder of the hotel, a great wine enthusiast, had assembled an amazing collection of local and international wines. I decided to try a wine from his collection, and it turned out to be exceptionally delicious and rich. Sipping on a glass of this wine at sunset, I felt that my journey had come to its full fruition.
